AVA’s Role

AVA is providing construction management services with responsibilities for inspection and safety oversight services. Performs over-all inspection/coordination for constructing the scope of project per description below. AVA is responsible for coordinating all its services with Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR), City of Industry, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, Los Angeles County Sanitation District, and many different utility companies, such as Edison, AT&T, Verizon/Frontier, Time Warner, Southern California Gas, etc.

Description

The Puente Avenue Grade Separation Project is located within the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) Alhambra Subdivision in the City of Industry on Puente Avenue. The project is located at mile post (MP) 498.20. The grade separation is between Valley Boulevard to the south and Nelson Avenue to the north. Puente Avenue will be lowered beneath the UPRR railroad.

The project will construct a bridge structure over Puente Avenue for Valley Boulevard. The Valley Boulevard structure is within the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County. The project are consist of sewer, utility casing beneath the UPRR tracks, installation of piles, retaining walls construction, waterline installation, sewer siphon with airline, installation of steel girders for the UPRR structure, roadway excavation construction of a concrete structure for the Valley Boulevard Bridge, street lighting, landscaping and Irrigation, storm drain realignment, protection of the Avocado Creek drainage facility of Los Angeles County Flood Control, signing and striping and traffic control.
