Hollywood/Highland Metro Red Line Subway Station

AVA’s responsibilities included:

  • Station Area Planning and Design, and Vehicular/Pedestrian Circulation Analysis
  • Analysis of Alternative Station Entrances in terms of physical constraints of present and future adjacent collateral development
  • Station Interface with other transportation modes


Station site plans and reports. Conceptual site planning to identify and analyze land use and urban design issues as they relate to Metro Red Line heavy rail service to the Hollywood/Highland area. The objective was to determine development principles and strategies which can be applied to the station area to improve transit operations and ridership. Station area plans were evaluated to modify station plans in the context of joint development opportunities in the station area so that the LACMTA could benefit from the value added to the area through investment in transit services.
