The Los Angeles Trade Technical College

The LATTC modernization efforts transformed the campus through several significant projects, including new buildings, restorations, and infrastructure improvements. These projects were funded under the $2.1 billion Proposition A/AA and $3.5 billion Measure J bond programs, designed to accommodate increased student enrollment and enhance sustainability.

Comprehensive Leadership in Campus Transformation

Anil Verma Associates, Inc. (AVA) played a central role as Campus Project Manager, overseeing the planning, design, and construction phases across multiple projects. AVA ensured that each project adhered to quality control, budget, and schedule constraints while achieving LEED certifications. The modernization work included six LEED-certified buildings, advanced learning spaces, and state-of-the-art facilities.

1. South Campus Project

   • Two five-story LEED Platinum buildings housing classrooms, lecture halls, and student services.
     • Role: Managed all phases from design to construction.
     • Cost: $99.7 Million
     • Timeline: 2002–2014

2. Learning Resource Center (LRC)

   • An 82,000 sq. ft. library renovation and 15,000 sq. ft. expansion for enhanced student services.
     • Role: Managed design and construction phases.
     • Cost: $39 Million
     • Timeline: 2007–2015

3. Child Development Center (CDC)

   • A 14,500 sq. ft. LEED-certified building offering classrooms, offices, and playgrounds.
     • Role: Delivered project management and sustainability compliance.
     • Cost: $10.6 Million

4. Building ‘A’ Modernization and Restoration

   • A 100,000 sq. ft. historic building upgraded to meet LEED Silver standards with seismic retrofits.
     • Role: Directed design and construction management.

5. Construction Technology Building (CTB)

   • A 160,000 sq. ft., 3-story LEED Gold building with modern classrooms and laboratories.

   • A six-level, net-zero energy building with 1,000 parking spaces and sustainable design features.
