Project Description
A 22 mile corridor between Union Station in downtown Los Angeles to Sylmar, served by a proposed high speed rail or commuter rail train in conjunction with a light rail system. Analysis of alternative alignments in terms of physical constraints of corridor and potential station areas, Study of optimal preliminary station locations for each alternative, optimal spacing of stations, and the appropriateness of each station location in terms of light rail and high speed rail technologies, Exploration of newer rail technologies such as the Maglev and French TGV, Interface with other transportation modes.
