Project Description
AVA was part of a general engineering consultant team contracted by the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA) to perform engineering and construction management services to construct a 512 mile Metrolink Commuter Rail Network serving the five counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura. The project encompassed 53 stations with anticipated future extensions. The project consisted of passenger stations, bridges, parking structures and lots, maintenance buildings, trackwork, electrical control and utility systems. As a part of the general engineering consultant team, AVA was responsible for station and civil design preparing final contract documents, and construction management support for this 550 million dollar project. Station planning and design included Burbank, Norwalk, Pomona, Anaheim, Fontana, Montebello, San Clemente, Buena Park, Irvine, Orange, and Santa Ana. Civil design services included grading, drainage, utility systems, signals pedestrian bridges and railroad grade crossings for stations and line segments.
