AVA's Role
As sub-consultant to the Jacobs, Mott-MacDonald, ACG (JMA) joint venture construction management team, Anil Verma Associates (AVA), Inc. was responsible to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) for this project.

Project Description
This multi-million dollar project consisted of twin running tunnels complete with cut and cover passenger stations, extending the Metro Red Line System by 6.3 miles from its previous terminus, in Segment II, at the Hollywood/Vine Station, to a new terminus at the North Hollywood Station. AVA’s team consisted of lead inspectors, tunnel inspectors and resident engineers. Responsibilities included management of construction activities on the Hollywood/Highland Station, Universal City Station and crossover, the seismic tunnel section, track level rooms and caverns, cross passages, blasting and inspection of 2.5 miles of twin tunnel sections running under the Hollywood Hills, from the Universal City Station to the Hollywood/Highland Station. AVA provided: Tunnel Inspection, Office Engineering and Assistant Resident Engineering
